ROCKFORD, Ill. - The Rockford College men's soccer team fell to Milwaukee School of Engineering 5-1 in Northern Athletics Conference action Saturday at Sam Greley Field. MSOE bolted out to a quick 3-0 lead midway through the 1st half before the Regents would respond with their only goal of the day. MSOE would find the back of the net two more times in the 2nd half on their way to the 5-1 victory.
The Regents only goal on the day came off the head of senior Joe Flinton (Saratoga Springs, N.Y./Saratoga Springs). Minutes after entering the game midway through the 1st half, Flinton found the back of the net with a header off a missed shot to put the Regents on the board. The Regents defense was once again led by senior goalkeeper Mick Goulding (Midlothian, Ill./Brenen). The senior keeper finished with 9 saves on the day including a handful of acrobatic saves to keep the match within reach.
The Regents will be back in action at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, September 26 at Sam Greeley Field when they welcome Aurora University.
