ROCKFORD, Ill.-The Rockford University women's basketball team returned to the court Wednesday night to take on Wisconsin Lutheran College in Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference matchup. The Regents fell behind in the first quarter and could not recover falling by a final of 78-56.
Rockford and Wisconsin Lutheran traded baskets to begin the game, but Wisconsin Lutheran ultimately pulled away leading by a score of 20-11. The Regents were unable to muster any offense in the second quarter trailing by a score of 33-18 at the half. Rockford attempted to mount a comeback narrowing the Warrior lead down to 10 points midway through the third quarter. Rockford was unable to close the gap any further falling behind 53-35 at the end of the third quarter. Ultimately the Regents fell by a final of 78-56.
Leading Rockford offensively was Amanda Davis (Mundelein, Ill.) scoring a game-high 18 points to go along with 3 rebounds. Casey Pettit (Rockford, Ill.) was the other Regent in double-figure scoring with 10 to go along with 4 assists. Talayah Gordon Scott (Rockford, Ill.) recorded a double-double scoring 10 points with 10 rebounds and a team-high 5 assists.
The Rockford University women's basketball team will return to action Tuesday, December 8 to take on Benedictine University in Lisle, Ill. with a scheduled start time of 7 p.m.
