MEQUON, Wis. - The Rockford University women's basketball team fell 83-48 on the road to the NACC leading Concordia University Wisconsin Falcons on Saturday. Rockford struggled to keep up with the Falcons for nearly the entire game. The Regents never led but were within two points twice in the opening minutes before Concordia Wisconsin used a 17-6 run to close the quarter and take a 23-10 lead. The second quarter was identical to the first as the Falcons again outscored the Regents 23-10 and took a 46-20 advantage into halftime. Rockford did play better in the second half but was unable to get the Concordia Wisconsin lead back under 20 points and ultimately fell to the Falcons.
Senior guard Amanda Davis (Mundelein, Ill.) was Rockford's leading scorer with 9 points off the bench. She also added 2 rebounds to her stat line.
Fellow guards Casey Pettit (Rockford, Ill.) and Mallorie Getzelman (Byron, Ill.) each tallied 8 points. Getzelman added 3 rebounds and a steal while Pettit grabbed 2 rebounds.
The RU women's basketball team returns to the court on Wednesday, January 27 at home against Concordia University Chicago. Tip-off is set for 7 PM in the Seaver Center.
