ROCKFORD, Ill. - The Rockford University women's basketball team (7-8, 3-6 NACC) was unable to keep up against Benedictine (8-8, 6-3 NACC) in a tough loss 69-33. Benedictine shot exceptionally well from the field (43.1%) including 36.4 percent from the three-point line that the Regents were not able to match. RU managed to keep up with the Eagles for the first 12 minutes of the game until Benedictine went on a 17-3 run that Rockford never came back from.
Anaya Davis still managed to tally her12th double-double of the season with 12 points and 12 rebounds for Rockford. Davis also had 4 steals in the game.
- Rockford battled to an 8-4 lead throughout the first quarter with three-pointers by Naynay Clark and Anaya Davis helping the Regents. However, Benedictine went on an 8-0 run to end the quarter and take the lead 12-8.
- The Regents and Eagles traded points to start the second quarter, RU still in the game at 15-12.
- Benedictine took over the next five minutes of the quarter, running away with the lead on a 17-3 run that put the score at 29-15. Rockford shot 1-for-9 during the run, with Natalie Posadas scoring the only basket.
- The Eagles held the 14-point lead for the rest of the half, trading points with the Regents until the horn sounded. Benedictine led going into the break 34-20.
- Coming out of halftime, Rockford made the first basket of the third, but didn't score again until there was 2:22 left in the quarter. Benedictine scored another 11 points in between those two baskets, extending the lead to 23 points, the score at 45-22.
- Makayla Ashford scored the final points for the Regents in the third quarter. The Eagles were soaring comfortably up 52-26.
- Benedictine built its lead further in the final quarter of play, scoring 17 more compared to Rockford's 7, bringing the final score to 69-33.
- Anaya Davis grabbed her 12th double-double of the season with 12 points and 12 rebounds. She also registered 4 steals.
- Makayla Ashford scored her season-best 7 points off the bench and tallied an assist, a steal, and a rebound.
- Roshanda Stevens secured 9 rebounds and a pair of steals.

The RU women's basketball team will travel to Milwaukee this weekend to take on MSOE on Saturday the 22nd. Tip off is scheduled for 2pm.
