LOVES PARK, Ill. - The Rockford University softball team fell in both games against the Dominican University Stars Saturday evening. Rockford took the lead in the third inning of game one, but Dominican scored all eight runs in the final three innings to earn the win 8-4. The high-scoring second game ended in favor of the Stars in five innings with a final score of 15-6.
Candace Kipp had a strong day, including capturing the NACC record for walks in a season, now sitting at 33.

Dominican 8 Rockford 4
- After a scoreless first two innings, Rockford got on the scoreboard first. Michaela Froehlich doubled to start the inning, and Bella Lima smacked another double to bring her home. Rockford led 1-0.
- It took until the top of the fifth for the Stars to respond. An RBI single scored one and a two-run single shortly after gave Dominican the lead 3-1 heading into the bottom of the fifth.
- DU added two more unanswered runs to build the lead to 5-1 in the sixth.
- Rockford pulled back into the game in the bottom of the inning. Candace Kipp scored on a sacrifice fly while Enedy Perez hit a double to score two more, pulling the Regents within one run at 5-4.
- The Stars pulled away in the top of the seventh, adding three more runs and sealing the deal on game one. Rockford had an opportunity in the bottom of the inning but went down in order, making the final score 8-4 Dominican.
Dominican 15 Rockford 6
- Dominican got out to a fast start in game two, putting up five runs in the top of the first.
- Rockford wasted no time responding, loading the bases and getting its first run across on a one-out groundout. Lauren Zielinski helped add two more runs with a two-out single to bring in Jocelyn Callahan and Candace Kipp. Dominican still had the lead 5-3.
- A trio of singles and a double by the Stars added three more runs to their lead, going up 8-3 in the second.
- DU broke open the game in the third inning, scoring seven runs in quick order, pushing the lead to 15-3.
- The Regents managed three more runs before the end of the game, but the run-rule took over in the fifth, cutting the game short by a final score of 15-6.

- Candance Kipp went 2-for-3 with 2 doubles.
- Enedy Perez hit 1-for-3 with a double and 2 RBIs
Game 2
- Candace Kipp finished with 3 walks, which is enough to capture the NACC record for walks in a season as she sits at 33 on the year.
- Bella Lima went 3-for-3 with a double and an RBI.
- Lauren Zielinski hit 1-for-1 with two RBIs.
- Emily Down had two sacrifice fly's that earned her 2 RBIs.
