LOVES PARK, Ill. - The Rockford University women's soccer team fell to the visiting Marian Sabres 2-0 in a Saturday afternoon NACC matchup at Wedgbury Stadium. The Sabres were in complete control of the match leading in shots (27-3), shots on goal (15-1), and corner kicks (5-1). The Regents did however lead the match in saves (12-1), but were not able to overcome the Sabres, dropping the match 2-0.
- Marian tried 4 different shots before the 15th minute, but none of the attempts were on goal and the match remained 0-0.
- Kaeleigh Taylor got her first of 12 saves on the day as the Sabres fired a shot on goal in the 21st minute but the chance was denied.
- The Regents got their first shot of the game in the 31st minute with Rianna Tovar trying to get her team on the board, but her shot went high and the match remained even.
- Marian attempted two more shots before the end of the first half, but neither shots were successful and the match remained 0-0 going into halftime.
- The Sabres were able to break the scoreless tie with a goal from Abby Larson in the 50th minute to give her team the lead 1-0 over the Regents.
- Silia Banza for the Regents tried to respond and get her team on the board, but her shot missed left.
- The Sabres again scored in the 69th minute to take the lead up to 2-0.
- The Regents tried to get something going in the 84th minute with a shot from Mia Ostler, but her shot was saved by the Sabre goalkeeper and Marian was able to hold on to the match and beat Rockford 2-0.
