ROCKFORD, Ill. -- Rockford University junior linebacker Joey Alvarez has been voted Third Team All-Region by D3football.com. Alvarez was also named First Team All-NACC and NACC Defensive Skill Player of the Year last month. This is the second year in a row that Alvarez was named All-Region by D3football.com. The D3football.com All-America teams will be announced on December 22, 2025.
Alvarez broke three records this season, including his own record twice in single-game tackles. On October 25, Alvarez broke his previous record from a season ago in single-game tackles vs. St. Norbert (20), his own record whom he was tied with one other individual. He broke his own record again in single-game tackles in the final game of the season vs. Wisconsin Lutheran (21) on November 9. When the season ended, Alvarez became the all-time tackles leader in program history with 361 total tackles. Alvarez led the NACC in two categories, and was top five in two other categories. Alvarez led the NACC in assisted tackles (83) and total tackles (140). He was also second in solo tackles (57) and second in fumble recoveries (3). At the NCAA Division III level, he was second in the country in total tackles this season (140), and sixth in fumble recoveries (3).
