RIVER FOREST, Ill. -- The Rockford University women's basketball team fell short to NACC conference opponent Concordia University Chicago, 61-45, on Saturday.
Te Simpson had a double-double for the Regents with 12 points and 11 rebounds.
Katie Paredes led the Regents in scoring with 13 points, and had a near double-double corralling eight rebounds.
Rockford got off to a very strong start, beginning the game on a 13-2 run, and had the lead at the end of the first quarter, 13-5.
The regents kept the momentum rolling into the second quarter, as they started the quarter on an 8-3 spurt to jump out to a 21-8 lead.
Concordia Chicago then quickly responded to end the half on a 13-1 run to trim the Regent lead down to 1 at halftime, making it 22-21. Concordia Chicago did not lead the entire first half.
The Cougars took their first lead of the game with 3:40 left in the third quarter, and never gave it up, as that was a part of a 19-0 run to end the third quarter to pull away.
The Regents will return to action on Saturday, Dec. 13, when they will face Aurora University in a non-conference match-up at the Seaver Center.
