ROCKFORD, Ill. - The Rockford University women's basketball team fell just short 48-47 in its season finale to the Concordia University Chicago Cougars. The game was a battle with 6 ties and 6 lead changes throughout the game and the largest lead for either team did not exceed single digits. Rockford actually shot better from the field than the Cougars, shooting 33.3%, including a 50% first quarter while CUC shot just 28.3% on the afternoon. However, the Cougars made four more three-pointers and three more free throws than the Regents. Rockford and CUC battled to a 47-47 score with a minute left, but the Cougars were able to put themselves ahead by one and held off the Regent's comeback efforts, ultimately winning by a final score of 48-47.

- Rockford responded with a 9-2 run over the next three minutes to take a 9-7 lead, capped off by a Jocelyn Callahan triple.
- The Regents increased their lead to as many as 8 in this quarter with a 15-7 lead and later closed out the quarter with an Alyssa Havard jumper to give Rockford a 19-12 lead.
- The Cougars brought the Regent lead down to 19-17 points with four straight points to open the second quarter.
- CUC eventually took the lead with an 8-2 spurt to make it a 25-21 Cougar lead with 1 minute and 43 seconds left in the half.
- However, Rockford responded with back-to-back layups from D'Asia Washington and Lexi Keating before the end of the half to tie it up at 25-25 going into the break.
- Rockford and CUC traded buckets to open the second half, but after the Cougars took a 29-27 lead, the Regents tied it up with an Allie Wintemute jumper and took the lead with back-to-back layups from Jocelyn Callahan and Lexi Keating to make it 33-29.
- The Regents were able to stay in front for the remainder of the quarter, holding a 37-32 lead heading into the fourth.
- CUC quickly tied up the game at 37-37 with five straight points to begin the fourth quarter.
- Rockford regained the lead with a slight 8-3 run to grab a 45-40 lead capped off by a D'Asia Washington layup with five minutes left in regulation.
- The Cougars battled back with seven straight points to take a 47-45 lead with 2 minutes and 11 seconds left, but Rockford was able to tie it on a Lexi Keating layup with 1 minute and 10 seconds left.
- Unfortunately, the Cougars were able to take a 48-47 lead with 7 seconds left and Rockford was unable to respond, allowing CUC to hold on for the slight 1-point victory.
