MEQUON, Wis. - The Rockford University men's volleyball team concluded its season with a 3-0 loss on the road Saturday to the Concordia University Wisconsin Falcons. Rockford struggled to find its rhythm for much of the day, as the Regents never led at any point. However, Rockford finally began to get in a grove late in the third set. The Regents tallied five kills and just one error over a ten point span to get back into the match. Unfortunately, it was not enough, as the Regents dropped the match 25-12, 25-12, 25-19.
- The Regents and Falcons were tied three times in the opening moments, with the final of those coming on a Josh Albers kill at 4-4.
- However, CUW scored the next four points as a part of a larger 12-3 run to grab a 16-7 edge.
- Rockford never got any closer than seven the rest of the way and dropped the first set 25-12.
- The Regents got off to a very slow start to begin the second set. Rockford was outscored 8-2 over the first ten points and was never able to recover.
- CUW led by as many as 13, winning the second set 25-12 and taking a 2-0 lead.
- Rockford again fell behind early in the third and final set, as CUW raced out to a quick 9-3 lead.
- This time however, the Regents were able to get back to within four at 12-8. Josh Albers, Tsubasa Namai, Isaiah Dixon and Joseis Dixon each had a kill to make it a four-point difference.
- Unfortunately, the Falcons proceeded to go on a 10-3 run to expend their lead to 22-11.
- Rockford would not go down without a fight. The Regents used an 8-1 spurt of their own to claw all the way back to within four at 23-19. Isaiah Dixon led the offensive charge with a trio of kills over that span.
- However, the Falcons scored the next two points to win the set 25-19 and the match 3-0.
- Isaiah Dixon finished with a match-high 10 kills and 3 digs.
- Josh Albers had 14 assists, 7 digs, 4 kills and a block.
