KENOSHA, Wis. -- The Rockford University women's indoor track & field team placed seventh at the Tadd Metzger Invite at Carthage College over the weekend.
It was a great weekend for
Mariah Williams. She broke the school record in the triple jump with a jump of 10.05m (32-11.75) and tied the record in the long jump at 4.75m (15-7.00). Williams also finished 13th in the 200m with a time of 28.98.
Courtney Murphy ran both the mile and the 1000m, finishing 10th in the mile with a time of 6:08.67. She broke the 1000m record by about two seconds, finishing fourth with a time of 3:45.84.
Malia Niles ran the first 600m in school history, setting the new record at 2:09.40.Â
Donna Whiteside competed in the 800m, running it in 2:59.78 to finish 23rd.
To cap off the track events, Whiteside, Niles, Murphy, and
Brianna Torres ran the 4x400, crossing the finish line in 5:11.72.
Ashley Mersch competed in the women's pentathlon and the shot put. Her best toss of 9.24m (30-3.75) placed her in 15th in the shot, and she finished with 1308 points in the pentathlon.
The Regents will return to action next Saturday, Feb. 14, when they will compete at the UW-Platteville Invite.
