FORT MYERS, Fla. -- The Rockford University baseball team lost to non-conference opponent Skidmore College, 8-6, on Wednesday.
The Regents will return to action tomorrow, March 12, against Alfred State College in a doubleheader at 9 a.m. and noon EDT.

Bryce Stanton went 3-for-4 with an RBI.
Marcus Taylor,
Trent Lawrence, and
Nate Burdin all recorded two hits while
Kadin Bergstrom had a team-high two RBIs going 1-for-4 at the plate.
Frank Koopmann started on the hill putting together just over two innings of work allowing four earned runs off seven hits while striking out two batters.
Hunter Pavia stepped on the mound in the third inning allowing four hits, two runs, and forced three strikeouts.
Kyle Koerner then came in for relief for Pavia in the eighth allowing one run, two hits, and punching out two batters.
Skidmore scored one run in both the first and second innings to take a 2-0 lead. Lawrence then scored an unearned run as a result of an error as the Regents trailed 2-1 after two.
The Thoroughbreds put together three runs in the third started with an RBI double and RBI single to extend the Thoroughbred lead 5-1.
Skidmore plated one run in the fourth. In the fifth, Bergstrom tallied a two-RBI single and in the sixth Stanton singled through the left side to record an RBI to trim the Regent deficit to two, trailing 6-4.
The Thoroughbreds plated one run in the seventh with an RBI double.
In the eighth,
QJ Mangelsen scored as a result of a throwing error.
Zach Fabis then was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to trail by just one, 7-6.
Unfortunately for the Regents, Skidmore scored its final run and recorded three outs facing four Regent batters to hang on to the win.
