The third set was back-and-forth until the end, with four changes in the final set. Similar to the first two sets, a late-set run propelled the Scarlet Hawks over the top. Illinois Tech went on a 4-0 spurt for the fourth and final lead change of the match to regain the lead 17-15, a kill by Dixon and an error from the Scarlet Hawks tied the set, but a 5-0 run from Illinois Tech sealed it.
The Regents will return to action on Saturday, March 7, when they will face NACC conference opponent Edgewood University at 1 p.m. CST at the Seaver Center.
