Kyle Avaloy was hired as the offensive line coach and co-special teams coordinator in July 2023 at Rockford University. Coach Avaloy brings multiple years of both high school and collegiate coaching experience to the Regent sideline. 

Avaloy spent three seasons as the defensive line coach for the University of Dubuque. The Spartans went 14-7 with Avaloy on staff, including posting a winning record in all three seasons. In 2019, Avaloy guided the Spartan defense to an impressive 25 sacks (71st in NCAA Division III) and allowed just 295.8 yards per game (37th in NCAA Division III). Avaloy also served as the team's player personnel - travel coordinator and film coordinator.

Coach Avaloy spent two seasons as an assistant coach at Lincoln Way Central High School. Avaloy was the head sophomore coach for one year and a varsity assistant coach for two years.  

Prior to entering the coaching ranks, Avaloy played in the NFL and the Arena Football League. He attended rookie minicamps for both the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Chicago Bears in 2017. Avaloy then went on to play for the Maine Mammoths and the Philadelphia Soul of the Arena Football League in 2018 and 2019 respectively.

Avaloy was a four-year player, including a three-year starter on the offensive line, at Illinois State University. The Redbirds were a national powerhouse with Avaloy on the roster. Illinois State qualified for the NCAA FCS Division I playoffs four times, including an appearance in 2014 FCS National Championship Game and won back-to-back Missouri Valley Conference Championships in 2014 and 2015. Avaloy also earned numerous individual accolades over his four years as a Redbird. He received the 2013 Illinois State Offensive Newcomer Award, won numerous Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Week honors, was voted Second Team All-Missouri Valley in 2015, was a Third Team Preseason All-American in 2016 and was nominated for the Allstate Good Works Team. 

Avaloy earned his bachelor's degree in Recreation Management from Illinois State University.
