Sophomore pitcher Joseph Kmiec (Bolingbrook, Ill.) has been named Regent of the Week for the week ending April 29, 2018. Kmiec was heavily involved in Rockford's two wins over the top two teams in NACC last week. Kmiec got the start against Benedictine and went 6.1 innings to pick the win against the Eagles. He allowed just one earned run off six hits and struck out two. Kmiec then threw the final three innings against tenth-ranked Concordia Chicago to earn the save. The left-hander allowed no runs, struck out two and retired the final eight batters of the game. For the week, the sophomore threw 9.1 innings with a 0.96 earned run average and had four strikeouts.
