LISLE, Ill. - The Rockford University women's basketball team battled back late but dropped a heartbreaker 51-47 on the road Wednesday evening at Benedictine University. The Regents and Eagles played to a 22-22 tie in the first half. However, Benedictine led by as many as 16 points midway through the fourth quarter. Rockford responded by outscoring the Eagles 17-3 over the next 4:20, to make it a one possession game with less than 30 seconds remaining. Following a pair of missed Eagle free throws, the Regents had the ball in closing seconds with a chance to tie or take the lead. Unfortunately, Rockford was unable to get its shot attempt to fall, allowing Benedictine to secure the win with a pair of made free throws.

- After falling behind early, Rockford used a 7-0 run to close the first quarter and take a 12-10 lead. Rockford was a perfect 3-3 from the floor, including draining its only three-point attempt over that span. Lexi Keating led the way with four points, while Jocelyn Callahan scored the other three.Â
- Rockford would build its lead up to as many as five points (18-13) at the 5:33 mark following a Katie Paredes made jumper.Â
- Benedictine battled back and would eventually tie the game at 19-19 with 1:55 remaining in the second quarter.Â
- The Regents and Eagles then traded triples over the final 43 seconds, as the game entered halftime tied at 22-22.Â
- Benedictine came soaring out of the intermission, making its first three shot attempts and taking the largest lead thus far for either team at 29-22.Â
- The Eagles continued to build upon their lead, eventually entering the fourth quarter with a 39-26 advantage.Â
- With Benedictine now out in front 46-30 with 5:09 remaining, Rockford strung together an incredible run and gave itself a chance to tie or win the game in the final moments.Â
- Rockford went on a 17-3 spurt over the next 4:20 to make it a 49-47 game with 29 seconds left. The Regents went 6-8 from the floor, including a 3-4 effort from three-point range. Jocelyn Callahan led the way with nine points on a trio of made threes.Â
- The Regents would then foul the Eagles, sending them to the free throw line with 22 seconds remaining. Benedictine proceeded to miss both attempts, giving the ball back to Rockford with a chance to tie or take the lead.Â
- Unfortunately, the Regents' final shot attempt was off the mark, which allowed the Eagles to seal the 51-47 win at the free throw line.Â
- Jocelyn Callahan poured in a season-high 13 points and tied her career-high with 4 made three-pointers. She also added 2 rebounds, 2 steals, 1 assist and 1 block.Â
- Katie Paredes narrowly missed her first double-double of the season. She finished with 12 points, 9 rebounds and 2 steals.Â
- Audrina Terhune added 11 points, 3 assists, 3 steals and 2 rebounds.Â
- Tyra Clark had 9 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 points.Â
