APPLETON, Wis. - The Rockford University women's basketball team fell 66-45 on the road Wednesday night to the Lawrence University Vikings. The Vikings pulled away in the second quarter, when they outscored the Regents 22-8 and took a 36-19 lead into halftime. Rockford was never able to get any closer than 15 in the second half and dropped its third straight meeting to Lawrence in as many years. The biggest difference in the game was turnovers and points off turnovers. Rockford turned the ball over 26 times, compared to just 12 for Lawrence and was outscored 20-0 on points off turnovers. However, an extremely bright spot in the game was Rockford's ability to rebound the basketball. The Regents outrebounded the Vikings 51-37, including an impressive 20-8 advantage in offensive rebounds.
- The Vikings opened the game on an 8-3 run to take a 5-point lead 3:31 into the first quarter.
- However, the Regents responded right back with a 7-2 run of their own and knotted the game at 10-10. Three different Regents scored over that span, led by a trio of points from Tyra Clark.
- Unfortunately, Lawrence promptly outscored Rockford 17-3 over the next 7:47 to seize control of the game and take a 27-13 lead with 3:53 remaining in the first half.
- The Vikings would extend their lead to as many as 17 in the period, and take a 36-19 advantage into the break.
- Rockford was unable to get any closer than 15 points in the third quarter, as Lawrence took a 55-33 lead into the fourth.
- The Vikings pushed their lead to a game-high 27 points at 65-28, before Rockford put together one final run to close out the game.
- The Regents were able to score the next seven points, led by three from Jocelyn Callahan, but it was not enough, as Rockford fell by a final score of 66-45.
