ROCKFORD, Ill. - Five of the six spots in the 2023 NACC Men's Basketball Tournament are already spoken for with just one day of NACC games remaining. Rockford University enters Saturday's contest at Illinois Tech as one of three teams (Rockford, Aurora and Edgewood) fighting for that sixth and final playoff spot. A win against Illinois Tech would secure a tournament bid for the Regents, as would loses by both Aurora University and Edgewood College. Rockford could move up as high as the No. 5 seed with a win and a Benedictine loss. Otherwise, the Regents would be the No. 6 seed in the tournament via the other two scenarios. Although Illinois Tech has already clinched a spot in the NACC Tournament, Saturday's game is also important to the Scarlet Hawks. Illinois Tech can clinch the No.4 seed and thus a home playoff game with a win or a Benedictine loss. Otherwise, Illinois Tech will be the No. 5 seed in the tournament.
