DE PERE, Wis. - The Rockford University women's basketball team fell 79-52 on the road Saturday afternoon to the NACC leading St. Norbert College Green Knights. Rockford played St. Norbert tough early into the second quarter, before the Green Knights went on a 10-0 run to take a 10-point lead and seize control of the game. Neither team shot the ball particularly well, but St. Norbert took an incredible 25 more shot attempts than the Regents. This was accomplished in part by the Green Knights hauling in 17 offensive rebounds and forcing 21 Rockford turnovers. The St. Norbert win avenges a 67-59 loss at home to the Regents a season ago.
- After falling behind 3-0, Rockford's Alyssa Havard and Lexi Keating hit back-to-back triples to give the Regents their first and only lead of the day at 6-5.
- St. Norbert responded by scoring the next five points to snag a 10-6 advantage.
- However, Katie Paredes drained a three-pointer of her own on the Regents' very next possession to make it just a 10-9 game.
- The Green Knights lead hovered around five for the remainder of the quarter as they took a 19-14 advantage into the second.
- Rockford came roaring out of the gates to begin the second quarter. The Regents scored the first five points of the period, capped off by a three-point play by Nia Wilkerson, to knot the score at 19-19.
- Unfortunately, St. Norbert responded with a 10-0 run of its own to leap out to a 29-19 lead with 4:27 left in the half.
- The Green Knights would extend their lead to as many as fifteen and went into the break with a 39-24 advantage.
- Unfortunately, the third quarter belonged to St. Norbert. Rockford was outscored 20-8 in the period and entered the fourth trailing 59-32.
- The Green Knights led by as many as thirty in the fourth before ultimately winning by a final score of 79-52.
- Katie Paredes finished with 10 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists and a steal.
- Lexi Keating added 10 points, 2 assists, 1 rebound and a steal.
- D'Asia Washington had 8 points, 3 rebounds and an assist off the bench.
- Nia Wilkerson tallied 14 points, 7 rebounds, 1 assist and a block.
