ROCKFORD, Ill. -- The Rockford University women's volleyball team took on the Lakeland University Muskies in a NACC matchup on Saturday afternoon. The Muskies swept the Regents in straight sets, 25-9, 25-18, and 25-13.
Amelia Rodriguez and
Jalyn Rhodes each had five kills, which led the team.
Leila Cooks totaled eight assists in the middle, followed closely by
Isabella Valdes with six.
On the defensive side, Cooks added 5 digs to her day,
Keara Ross and
Ashley Miller had seven and six respectively.
The Muskies came out of the gates firing on all cylinders. They handily took the first set 25-9. The Regents were competitive in the second set, getting as close as 21-18, before Lakeland closed out on a 4-0 run.
Rockford took their lone lead of the match early in set number three, before the Muskies pulled away to close out the sweep.
The Regents will return to action on Thursday, Oct. 16, with a 7 p.m. CDT NACC contest at home against Concordia Wisconsin.    Â
