ROCKFORD, Ill. -- The Rockford University women's volleyball team fell to the St. Norbert College Green Knights 3-1 on Wednesday evening at the Seaver Center.
Ashley Mersch led the team in kills with 10.
Amelia Rodriguez and
Jalyn Rhodes followed closely behind with 8 and 7 respectively.
Isabella Valdes was all over the place, tallying up 18 assists for the match.
Defensively,
Ashley Miller and
Keara Ross were neck-in-neck in digs with 13 and 12.
The first two sets of this match were one-sided. St. Norbert rolled out to a 15-2 lead in the first set before cruising to a 25-14 win.
The second set followed the same pattern, with the Green Knights holding the lead for the entire set on the way to a 25-13 win.
Things took a turn in set #3. The Regents never went away, knotting the score at 13 apiece before reeling off a 6-0 run to gain the upper hand and eventually get on the board with a 25-19 victory.
The fourth set was very competitive, as each team went back and forth. Rockford held a 20-18 lead before St. Norbert closed it out with a 7-1 run to take the match.
The Regents will return to action on Saturday, Nov. 1, when they head to Milwaukee to take on Alverno at noon.
