DUBUQUE, Iowa - The Rockford University women's basketball team fell 65-41 on the road Thursday night in its first game in nearly two weeks to the University of Dubuque. Although Rockford never led in the game, the Regents put together three solid quarters against the Spartans. Unfortunately, the game was ultimately decided in the second quarter, where Dubuque outscored Rockford 23-4. Rockford never got any closer than 18 in the second half, as the Spartans went on to win their third straight game over the Regents in the last four seasons.
- Dubuque opened the night on an 8-0 run to grab an eight-point lead just under three minutes into the game.
- Rockford responded with a 7-1 spurt of its own, to pull back within two at the 3:51 mark. Three different Regents scored over that span, led by a Kyla Wilkerson triple, which made it a 9-7 game.
- The Spartans would outscore Rockford 11-4 the rest of the period and take a 20-11 advantage into the second.
- Unfortunately, Dubuque scored the first nine points and the final twelve points of the second quarter, to take a commanding 43-15 lead into halftime.
- Although Rockford outscored Dubuque 14-7 in the third period, the Regents were unable to get any closer than 18 the rest of the way and fell by a final score of 65-41.
- Kyla Wilkerson led Rockford with 9 points on 3-of-5 shooting from three-point range. She also grabbed a rebound.
- Katie Paredes finished with 6 points, 7 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 block and 1 steal.
- Tyra Clark added 6 points, a game-high 9 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals and 1 block.
