Rosie Gilg is the only Rockford College female athlete to win a varsity letter competing on a men's team. A 1975 NAIA All-American as a freshman and the only female on the men's swimming team, she finished 10th in the nation in the three-meter dive.

She won YMCA National Titles in 1974 and 1975 and finished second in 1973, 1976 and 1977.

The Rockford East High School grad has served as a Rockford College diving coach and was aquatics director for the Belvidere YMCA before becoming a diving professional in the three-meter diving and comedy routines.

She toured at Six Flags Great America, Pontchartrain Beach in New Orleans and in the First Women's Cliff Diving Invitational in Honolulu, Hawaii.
