Tim Rowe enters the Charles M. DeWild Hall of Fame following an incredible four-year career on the Rockford University baseball team. Rowe was a central piece to the turnaround of the Rockford University baseball program in the mid-2000s. Prior to Rowe’s arrival, Rockford had not won 20 games in a season since 1992 and had not won a conference championship since 1991. After Rowe joined the team in 2004, Rockford averaged 22 wins per season, including a school record 29 wins during his senior year. The Regents also won their first conference championship in 26 years in 2007, when they captured both the regular season Northern Athletics Conference (NAC) Championship and the NAC Tournament Title. Rockford also broke five single-season team records over that span, including hitting an astounding 44 home runs in 2004.

Rowe was one of the best outfielders in the conference and region throughout his career and would eventually become one of the top outfielders in the country as a senior. As a freshman, Rowe was named First Team All-Northern Illinois Iowa Conference (NIIC) and Third Team All-Region by the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA). He was subsequently named NIIC Honorable Mention in 2005, before having perhaps one of the best offensive seasons in program history as a senior. In 2007, Rowe had a .400 batting average, a .503 on-base percentage and a whopping .750 slugging percentage. He finished the year with 56 hits, 16 doubles, 11 home runs, 105 total bases, 52 runs batted in, 31 walks and was a perfect 6-for-6 in stolen base attempts. Additionally he was nationally ranked in six offensive categories, including 11th in home runs and home runs per game, 14th in runs batted in per game and 17th in slugging percentage. Rowe’s incredible numbers led to him being the only player in the conference to be named the NAC Position Player of the Week twice during that year. He was also named First Team All-NAC and First Team All-Region by the ABCA. Rowe capped off his season by being selected an Honorable Mention All-American by D3baseball.com.

Over his four years as a Regent, Rowe broke multiple school records and put together a collection of very impressive career stats. As of today, Rowe still holds the Rockford University records for home runs in a game (3) and games played in a career (163), as he missed just four games throughout his entire four-year career. Rowe concluded his collegiate career with a .344 batting average and a .570 slugging percentage. He finished with exactly 200 hits, 45 doubles, 7 triples, 24 home runs, 143 runs batted in, 146 runs scored, 331 total bases, 74 walks and 33 stolen bases.
